The Cebu Affiliation

...the events here were accounts taken from my diary and were written on the day that a single event happened. It just feels good to have it here. Written on 05-08-2010.

It's been a while since I post my last note. And it seems I'm missing a lot of things. Yesterday was fun but now it's already a stained memory. The Cebu affiliation was once a great adventure, never thought of that.

Let's take a glimpse of the past...
April 18 2010,5:30 am
Benedicamus Domino! Everyone ready, buckled up, baggages packed, and excited. Then eaglestar buss came to fetch us. Everyone waved their hands to say goodbye to Tacloban- Cebu where are you?
To Ormoc city- the authorities got busied as the second batch of the iolites crowded the Ormoc seaport. Then the Beautiful stars sailed its way to Cebu. What a day to remember!

The next day, monday started the two-week expedition in Cebu. Seminar on BLS was conducted at VSMMC. That hospital was a bit large and we enjoyed our semitour in that place.

(April 20 2010) The second day of our struggle in cebu was another kind. Our orientation in ward XII was cut short because of a problem. And we don't know the prob

The following day started the amazing part of our stay. The VSMMC-BSC shrunk out as Mateo, Ramil, ybola, Mr X, Marvin and their colleagues started to rock the grounds(oooppss ooooopss!). but as we enjoy the company with our patients, the mass requirements also joined the round. That never-ending NCPs, LFDs,and process recordings really pissed us out. Though we were altruistic toward our studies still they were burdens on our part. But we need not to halt, it's our job.

And on Friday, the excruciating PRS on BLS shattered us. Alas! I think we all passed. Amazing grace!

The next day(Saturday) everyone prepared themselves for the first formal outing. It was the time that we were freed from a week of prison in the pension house(verbena). The following day shouts of exaltation were heard as we rush to the sto.nino church to attend the Sunday mass. Then everyone loaded themselves for the extension of the outing, savoring the flavor of the city, witnessing it's cool places, enchanted by the wonderful charms of the city's native culture, and riding the fun of sugbu's specialties with all their gusto. Viva Cebu!

Here comes another Monday, the start of the second week struggle. we boldly faced the agony of making again that never-ending requirements, not even minding the additional sanctions coming.but seeing our patients keep us alive.a superb that arose the momentous in us. Thank god we've met you Marvin and Y bola! Ooopps Oopps, birahi bang!

The days rapidly turned out to time-tuned event. The days ran faster each day.and we had seminar on perioperative nursing and infection control. And on Thursday, termination phase of our interaction with our patients. We will surely miss that place and the patients. Farewell.

Thursday! educational trip. We visited the Taoist temple and were amazed with the beautiful landscapes. Then we visited the home for the aged where we shared our little talent in singing. Then to the house of hope where we realized the true value of hope to our self addictions(get rid of them). And in the evening each group showed their skills during the culminating activity of psychiatry affiliation. We cherished our last remaining night at Cebu. What a night to remember!

(May 1 2010)Saturday, the last day of our voyage.the day started out with the clash of the titans. The students against the CIs arguing about misconducts which resulted to conflicts between the students. And I've seen some of my batchmates sobbing and crying because of that 'unfairness' thing. Others showed their piety, courage, anger, and guilt. They were really valiant -heroism I may call it. Then we agreed on one decision. A short time was allotted for our last-minute-shopping. And in the evening we awaited for the departure. Going home we ride the wonderful stars, then eaglestar for the land trip. And, we're back to Tacloban.

A lot of things happen when we sometimes restrain ourselves away with our daily routines. Things changed. And I've seen a real bonding, caring and sharing. My prefect in the seminary once told me, that a real bonding can be seen when you're away from your original home, when you're on trip specifically. you learn to appreciate the oneness of the group when you're in a foreign land. It was proven this time. And whatever have arisen from it, be it worst or best, rest assured, it made us better and wiser. And that what makes the ride worth all the trouble. Deo Gratias!

The most exciting part of a life of junior is now over.
